Elance Bid Rejected – The Fools!
I had my bid rejected, gutted, so as a result I’m going to share why I think I was right, and whoever it is, is wrong…
So the website in question is: Dermasal.com, obviously it has been written by someone who does copywriting, as you can tell by the extremely long text, ok fine. So the buyer was complaining about a high bounce rate and therefore a low conversion ratio, now can anyone see why this may be?
No?
Just imagine you have this awful tattoo and you want it removed, you type into Google “tattoo removal” and up pops the advert “Dermasol – Tattoo removal”. So you click on it and you get to their homepage where it says “About Tattoo Removal” you automatically think “this website is about tattoo removal, they don’t sell tattoo removal”. The website does not actually indicat in the main page that they sell tattoo removal products, above the fold that is. This means you have to scroll down to get to the part where it says “order now”, so the reason for the high bounce rate in this case, is not the fact that their site looks bad (its ok), its because people aren’t finding what they are looking for.
So they rejected my bid, I said I’d deliver in a week and charge $99, their loss. It’s a shame though I really wanted my first project on Elance.
